Kingsbridge Armory set to become ice center

The Kingsbridge Armory is slated to become the Kingsbridge National Ice Center.
Members of the Northwest Bronx Community Clergy Coalition tell News 12 that they met with developers last month to discuss the timeline of the project.
"We got reassurances from the developer that he is not giving up, he's going to continue. Now we know the project will go forward," said Desiree Pilgrim-Hunter.
The armory has been unused for decades and the development plans have been in discussion since 2013. However, the first signs of a rehab might be seen by the end of the year, the Norwood News reported.
When completed, the ice center will house nine skating rinks and a 5,000-seat arena.
