A Bronx gymnast will miss the Rio Olympics due to a knee injury.
John Orozco, 23, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee for a second time during training this week and will miss the Rio Games. The 23-year-old injured the knee during a high bar dismount and an MRI exam revealed the extent of the damage.
Orozco was a rising star four years ago, winning the national championship and qualifying for the men's all-around final. He tore the ACL in his left knee for the first time during the post-Olympic exhibition tour in the fall of 2012, but returned to win medals at both the 2013 and 2014 world championships.
