The late, legendary Bronx educator Robert Leder was honored with a new street name over the weekend.
A portion of East Tremont Avenue will share its name with the man who served as principal for decades at Lehman High School.
He was known and loved for his commitment to his students until his retirement in 2008. He passed away in 2018.
Former students of all ages returned to Lehman High School on Saturday for the unveiling of the new street sign. Rep. Ritchie Torres and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., who both attended Lehman under Leder, were among the attendees.
