There is good news for people who live near the most dangerous dams in New Jersey.
Funding to repair these dams had been stalled for four years. But just days after a Kane In Your Corner investigation exposed the issue, state lawmakers have now approved the funding.
The Lake Winona Dam in Jefferson Township is among more than a dozen dams that will receive funds.
All were listed as being both in poor condition and posing a high risk to people and property.
State Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia, who sponsored the legislation to release the funds, credits Kane In Your Forner for helping to prompt lawmakers to act.
Gov. Phil Murphy will now need to sign the bill.
