Lehman College unveiled a new peace bell that will be permanently nestled on its campus.
The bell is dedicated to college President Ricardo Fernandez for his trip to Korea's World Peace Bell Park, which is an area wrought with tension that lies between North and South Korea. It was gifted by Young Lee, a businessman in New York, as a thank you for Lehman's dedication to the Korean community.
Lehman is continuing its dedication with its Korean nursing program, which has graduated more than 400 students.
The school's theme for this year also happens to be peace and civil rights.
