A winter weather advisory is in effect for Litchfield County through 12 p.m. Wednesday. There is a threat of sleet and freezing rain tonight. One-tenth to one-quarter of an inch of ice is possible.
Periods of rain combined with patchy fog will keep visibility low tonight.
Temperatures will start to cool, especially up north and fall to near or just below freezing. Areas farther south will see temperatures hover in the mid-30s. The rain will be heavy at times, then come to an end just before sunrise on Friday.
Clouds linger for Friday and temperatures won't warm up much. Expect to see highs near 40 degrees. Warmer temperatures arrive for the weekend, starting with 50s for Saturday. Sunday through early next week will be the warmest stretch we've seen since last fall.
Rain showers return for late Saturday into early Sunday. The sun returns early next week for a couple of days.
