The MTA has activated its 24/7 command center to monitor the storm and keep things moving.

The LIRR and city subways will use special snow removal and de-icing equipment.

All local buses will be equipped with chains.

Today, the LIRR will operate on a normal schedule, but tomorrow it will run on an enhanced weekend schedule.

The railroad warns it may modify or suspend service if snowfall is heavy.
