A local aviation club in Throgs Neck celebrated its 60th anniversary at Ferry Point Park on Friday.
The Blue Angels received proclamations from Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson and Mayor Eric Adams for teaching kids and adults that the sky is the limit.
The organization is made up of Bronx residents who fly remote controlled planes, teaching people of all ages about the spirit of aviation. The club has been around since 1964 and many members have gone on to pursue pilot careers.
For the 60th anniversary celebration, kids learned about aviation careers, tried out a flight simulator and flew model planes themselves.
