Local leaders, activists call for murder charge in Daunte Wright case

While the officer who fatally shot Wright was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter, they say this isn’t enough.

As family and friends in Minneapolis held a funeral to mourn the loss of 20-year-old Daunte Wright Thursday, local leaders and activists gathered in Brooklyn. 
They are calling for upgraded charges in shooting death of the Black motorist. 
While the officer who fatally shot Wright was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter, they say this isn’t enough. 
News 12’s Emily Lorsch spoke with leaders and activists about why they say the officer should be charged with murder in the case.
