Local leaders and community members on Tuesday broke ground on the new Williamsbridge Oval Skate Park.
Plans for the park first got rolling in 2014, when skaters brought up the idea to City Councilman Andy Cohen. The park will features a dozen different elements, including ramps, rails, ledges and bars.
Three longtime skaters were tapped to consult on the design.
The park is expected to open in February 2019.
