Long Island sees less crowds for in-person Black Friday shopping
Black Friday had a much different look this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as many traded waiting in long lines for the ease online shopping.
Some stores offered curbside pickups for purchases as a way of keeping store populations to a minimum due to occupancy limits.
Retail expert Jack Mandel says since the pandemic, more people have been shopping online this year and retailers have been advertising big sales for the past two months to try to boost business.
News 12's Shonna Narine was at the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park Friday. She says she saw people adhering to the social distancing guidelines and wearing masks.
The Tanger Outlets were closed Thanksgiving, but opened early Friday morning with people waiting on lines to snag some deals.
