Many people in Brooklyn honored their departed loved ones at Green-Wood Cemetery for Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.
The Dia de Los Muertos altar in the cemetery, designed by artist Scherezade Garcia, brought over 1,000 people in the last two weekends.
The Mexican holiday is meant to honor and remember friends and family who have died.
Visitors lit candles and left different sentiments, like photos, letters and even desserts to honor their loved ones.
Strict safety measures are in place and a limited amount of people are allowed in the altar at a time.
Garcia is hopeful this year's altar brings peace to people who may have lost friends or family to COVID-19.
Sunday was the last day visitors could bring candles and sentiments to honor loved ones, but the altar will remain open until Thursday for people to visit.
