A Mahopac Boy Scout is tackling hunger while also giving back.
Zack Couzens built 27 raised flower beds outside Northern Westchester Hospital.
In the spring, he hopes to grow vegetables. The food will go to patients and people in need nearby.
He chose the hospital for his Eagle Scout project because it's where his parents were treated for COVID-19. It's also the hospital where he was born prematurely.
Many of the materials for his project were donated.
Couzens also created a GoFundMe for the project. He has raised more than $2,500 so far - exceeding his goal.
