WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- After a cold front crossed through the borough Thursday morning, the cold air continues to move in. Highs were in the 60s, and low temperatures for Friday morning will be in the mid- to upper-40s for the first time in nearly a week. Make sure to have the heavier jackets out the door.
- It will be sunny yet again Friday, allowing some warmer weather into the afternoon, but highs will only reach 63 degrees. That is actually typical for this time of year.
- It will briefly be warmer Saturday with temperatures into the upper-60s before more cold weather returns for Sunday and Monday. Highs will be in the 50s, and lows will be in the 40s. It will be a true "fall classic" for Game 3 of the World Series on Monday with temperatures falling from the 50s to the 40s through the evening.
- Following the cold start to the week will be a big bounce back in temperatures just in time for Halloween.
- A large area of warm weather will move into the Northeast beginning Wednesday and peak on Halloween Thursday.
- The record high Thursday is 81 degrees and the current forecast is also 81 degrees. So Halloween 2024 could be the warmest Halloween on record.
