Man dead after hit-and-run in Unionport

According to police, an SUV was driving westbound on the service road just after 6 p.m. Sunday evening.

Investigators say they are looking for a driver of an SUV that crashed into a man on the Cross Bronx Expressway Service Road and Ellis Avenue.

According to police, an SUV was driving westbound on the service road just after 6 p.m. Sunday evening.

They say a man in his thirties was crossing the road when the vehicle collided with him.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital. He was pronounced dead.

Police do not have a description of the driver nor the vehicle in question.
