A robbery victim says a man on a bicycle helped get her purse back, and now police are searching for the suspect.
Police have released surveillance video of a man assaulting and robbing a woman inside the lobby of her Bronx apartment building.
It happened on Oct. 16 around 9:30 p.m. on Fulton Avenue in Claremont.
Surveillance video shows the man hiding behind a car, and then running after the 35-year-old woman into the lobby of the building.
Once inside, he threw her to the ground and kicked her in the stomach before stealing her purse and running away.
The victim, who wished only to be identified as Carolina, says everything happened so fast.
"All my body still hurts. It's been a week already, but I still hurt."
The Bronx mother of three says she was waiting outside for her sister to buzz her into the building when she was caught off guard by her attacker
Carolina says she chased after the suspect, eventually flagging down a man on a bike, who then took chase and grabbed the purse from the suspect's hands.
The man on the bike returned Carolina's stolen purse to her, but she says he disappeared before she could say thank you.
"I wish I can see him again to thank him for everything he did for me."
Anyone who recognizes the man in the video is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
