Man thrown down stairs, beaten in Fordham apartment building 

On the scene, News 12 crews saw police picking up multiple items taken into custody for evidence as they tried to piece together clues to their investigation, including a pot.

Police are searching for the suspect involved in a brutal attack with an unknown object inside of a Fordham apartment building that sent a man to the hospital.

According to police, the entire incident happened just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday inside of an apartment building on West 190th St. They say the 32-year-old victim was approached by someone he didn't know and got into an argument. He was then grabbed and thrown down multiple flights of stairs. Police say when he got to the bottom, the person he didn't know started to punch and kick him multiple times throughout his body and struck him in the face with an unknown object.

The victim was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital and is expected to be OK.

Police say the person responsible was last seen wearing all black and white sneakers. If anyone has any information on what happened call the Crime Stoppers.
