Bronx native and nine-time Grammy award winning artist Mary J. Blige was honored Friday as she joins an iconic group of musicians in the Apollo Walk of Fame.
The Walk of Fame honors legendary artists who have performed on the theater's world-famous stage for more than eight decades.
For three decades now, the singer-songwriter has attracted an intensely loyal fan base, with worldwide sales of more than 50 million albums.
Blige joins a long list of iconic inductees like Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, and Patti LaBelle.
The Apollo will unveil a plaque recognizing Blige's success.
