Mayor Eric Adams has announced he is investing $1 million into animal care centers to help ease crowding and improve care.
The money will add 14 new staffers at shelters in Manhattan and Queens – both at capacity.
The mayor is also urging New Yorkers to adopt, saying every pet deserves a loving home.
Animal Care Centers of NYC makes sure all animals are vaccinated and microchipped before adoption.
