He wants New Yorkers to join the “Rat Pack” – an “elite squad of dedicated anti-rat activists."

The steps to become a member are laid out on the city’s website.

First sign up for the Rat Academy.

"It’s a two-hour class telling you all about the biology of rats,” said Corradi. "It tells you about what you can do to combat them in your home or your neighborhood."

Next, participate in a New York City service event – and lastly, join a rat walk with the rat czar herself.

“We walk around a neighborhood, and we look at conditions that are conducive to rats," said Corradi.

"We really talk about how humans and rats interplay and what humans can do to make sure we are making our city the least rat friendly place it can be."

Adams says the city’s massive trash revolution strategy is getting rid of millions of pounds of garbage that attracts rats.

He also says the city will have a 70% containerization of waste in November.
