Mayor announces more family enrichment centers coming to New York City
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced plans to add 30 additional family enrichment centers throughout the city.
New York City currently has only three family enrichment centers, which are located in East New York, Highbridge and Hunts Point.
“This is a new effort to reach families, families in need in the 33 neighborhoods we’ve identified as those hardest hit by COVID,” de Blasio said. “And those that bore the brunt of the disease and the historic inequalities.”
The mayor says the family enrichment centers are positive locations where people can get help.
The centers are supposed to be places where parents from across the neighborhood are brought together. They also connect families to resources for their children.
