Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Wednesday that there are fewer than 30,000 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine available.
Mayor de Blasio said that the impending winter storm is causing a delay in the vaccine shipments and thousands of appointments may have to be rescheduled.
The mayor also announced that he plans to update the vaccine website to make it more accessible to people.
The mayor says the goal is to have five million New Yorkers vaccinated by June.
