Mayor Eric Adams is traveling to El Paso, Texas in response to the ongoing migrant crisis.
He will be making multiple stops, including at the U.S. Mexico border as New York continues to face an influx of asylum seekers.
Adams will then travel back to New York City, where he will hold a press conference to discuss the trip.
Adams was bracing last month for an influx of buses carrying thousands of migrants from the U.S. border with Mexico, as a Trump-era health edict known as Title 42 expired.
The city said it has absorbed more than 31,000 asylum seekers, putting further stress on emergency shelters.
