Mayor Bill de Blasio focused on COVID testing and taking proper precautions for anyone who traveled over the holiday during his daily briefing Monday.
Mayor de Blasio urged everyone to get tested whether they traveled or stayed home over the holiday. Mayor de Blasio says there are many places to get tested with 25 new sites opening in the last week.
NYC Health + Hospitals will post updates three times a day on how long testing wait times are at various locations.
The mayor also said anyone who did travel must follow state guidelines for staying in quarantine and getting tested.
There is also a new imitative, Take Care Program, that's aimed at stopping transmission. The message is 'Don't Wait. Separate.' Doctors say wear a mask, get tested often and if you're exposed don't wait, separate.
As for schools, once blended learning resumes weekly testing will begin. Twenty-percent of the school population will be tested.
The Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting will be held Dec. 2, but with restrictions. Mayor de Blasio says the best way to see the tree lighting is to watch it on TV.
