The chain is giving out free Egg McMuffin sandwiches.

The deal is part of the chain's first-ever National Egg McMuffin Day.

The sandwich first came out in 1971. McDonald's says it's celebrating 50 years of the sandwich a year early.

You can get a free Egg McMuffin until 10:30 a.m., but having the McDonald's app is required to get the deal.
