The New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Bronx's Community Board 7 met Tuesday night to discuss the ongoing Kingsbridge Armory redevelopment project.
The meeting was centered around residents' concerns over the transformation of the armory into one of the largest ice rinks in the country.
Residents asked questions regarding the future of nearby mom-and-pop shops and whether the armory would employ Bronx residents for the renovation. Some who attended say the lack of concrete answers has made them more wary of the project. Others say they are confident that the rink will be a positive feature of the borough.
Officials reinforced the community benefits agreement, which promises jobs and a living wage.
The next meeting on the project is scheduled for May 7.
