The $350 million Bronx Behavioral Health Campus, a new mental health care facility in Pelham Bay, opened for business Tuesday.
The sprawling, state-of-the-art complex covers almost 440,000 square feet and contains beds for 400 patients.
It was designed to look more residential than institutional, according to officials, and it includes indoor and outdoor recreation areas.
The campus replaces two mental health facilities built in the 1960s. Patients will move in within two to three weeks, according to officials.
