A Morris Heights mother of six says she is worried because she hasn't received mail delivery to her apartment on a regular basis for the last two months.
Jennifer Lavin is a busy mom who works nights. She says the last thing she needs is to miss a medical bill, a check from the IRS or something for her kids.
"I'm just scared that I might miss something important," says Lavin. "You got to understand you're messing with people's lives."
Some of the mailboxes in the complex won't open and some are broken. Lavin says this is the reason she and her neighbors haven't been getting their mail.
The U.S. Postal Service says it suspended mail to 1652 Popham Ave. because of vandalism. Officials say they can't securely deliver the mail with broken mailboxes. They say residents can pick of their mail at the post office until the necessary repairs are made.
A notice from January states that repairs be made so that mail can be delivered.
Lavin says she has been getting the runaround from management.
"I want to be able to come home after work and relax, take care of business not having to go and call management to harass them every day," says Lavin.
Lavin says she went with some of her neighbors to get mail from the post office, but it wasn't an easy process.
