A Morrisania family is pleading for help in finding their therapy dog that went missing earlier this month.
Bleden Pino, 12, slept next to his Chihuahua-mix, Benny, every night. The 1-year-old dog is therapeutic to Bleden, who has autism and ADHD.
His family says that Benny escaped on Sept. 4 during a food delivery. They say Benny would have been especially helpful as Pino starts remote learning for the new school year.
"He used to cuddle next to me when I was playing," Pino says.
The family says Benny does not have a tail, one of his nails is all white and he is microchipped.
He went missing at Union Avenue and Home Street, not far from Prospect Avenue.
Anyone who has information on the dog's location can contact the owner, Diane Torres at (347) 490-4228.
