Rain arrives Wednesday evening with showers overnight. Rain will be light to moderate with lows near 57 degrees and light east winds.

Long Island will see morning showers before dry conditions and peeks of sunshine in the afternoon on Thursday.

Clouds and showers are in the forecast for the next few days followed by a big warmup.

Skies will be mainly cloudy with a brightening later in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper-60s to near 70.

Friday will be mostly dry but there could be an isolated shower around in the morning and then again later in the evening.

There is a weather system for Saturday that could bring scattered showers, but a good portion of the afternoon does look dry with some sunshine.

Sunday will be nice with dry weather and highs in the low-70s.

Temperatures rise through the 70s to near 80 degrees by next week.
