A mother saying living in her Clason Point Gardens home has become a nightmare.
Shaunquilla Dark says she has made complaints about various problems in her home and that tickets have been called in to no avail.
Dark says there have been problems everywhere, including inside her walls. She says the wall got very hot recently, so the FDNY made a hole to in the wall to see if there was a fire inside.
Dark says NYCHA put a cardboard box over the hole, and now it’s been there for four months.
Her latest problem happened last Monday when she found black water in the tub.
“I had to take buckets, put on gloves to dump the water out, clean it out with bleach, and here it is again full again today,” she says.
She also says there is mildew above her daughter’s bed.
“I hardly even let my kids sleep in here because of this wall,” she says.
She's lived there with her four daughters for three years, but regrets moving in.
“It's like I live in a junkyard, can't even call this my home,” she says.
When a NYCHA crew showed up early Thursday afternoon, Dark says she told them News 12 was coming to cover the delay in repairs. NYCHA tells News 12 that plumbing work on the tub will begin Friday morning and it will schedule other repairs after coordinating with Dark.
