Mott Haven restaurant accused of discriminating against gay couple offers couple apology, free meal

A Mott Haven restaurant accused of discriminating against a gay couple responded Sunday.
As News 12 reported, the couple said they were berated by an employee of La Isla Cuchifrito Restaurant after they embraced each other.
The son and husband of the owners of the restaurant say the employee who made comments to them was fired on Saturday.
They added that in no way do they condone the comments made by their former employee, that they have been in this community for over 20 years and have never dealt with something like this.
They want to offer the couple their sincerest apology and a free meal.v
