Mount Vernon residents are grappling with the aftermath of multiple fires that displaced dozens of people within hours of each other.
The first fire erupted Thursday night at 80 Gramatan Ave., destroying a barbershop on the ground floor. Hours later, another blaze broke out less than a mile away on Elm Street.
