The former leader of MS-13's East Coast operations has been sentenced to life in prison.
Miguel Angel Corea was convicted of federal racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder charges in Maryland.
Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly says the investigation into Corea began in Nassau County in 2017 on drug trafficking charges.
Donnelly says that's when officials learned how big Corea's operation was.
