MTA price hikes have arrived – and commuters expressed their frustration Sunday morning to News 12.
"It makes no sense. It’s hard enough living in New York as it is – and now you want to make the rates go up," said Valli, a Coney Island resident.
The price to ride the subway, bus and Access-A-Ride is going from $2.90 to $3. Reduced fare prices are going from $1.45 to $1.50. The express bus is going from $7 to $7.25 with reduced fare rising from $3.50 to $3.60. A single ride ticket will go from $3.25 to $3.50.
“I’m working on getting my own transportation right now so I can stop taking transit," said Valli.
