The Metropolitan Transit Authority proposed Friday expanding Bx24 bus service to 24 hours a day.
The proposal coincides with increasing development in the Hutchinson Metro Center. The city had expanded bus service in the area in 2014 to accommodate medical offices and other businesses there.
The 24-hour service expansion would coincide with the new 911 center scheduled to open this year.
The proposal would benefit more than 1,000 call center employees, as well as others who work in or visit the area.
The MTA will hold a public presentation of the proposal at its headquarters on March 21.
