The MTA is rolling out OMNY vending machines to help commuters buy a card for $1 to use if they do not have the tap-and-go option on their phone or access to a credit card.
The agency will be testing these vending machines out at multiple stations over the next 30 days. New York City Transit president Richard Davey says that the hope is that this pilot will help more people begin to use OMNY that couldn't before.
The agency will be turning them on across six stations, including at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Bowling Green in Manhattan.
