The MTA announced that it will begin deploying customer service ambassadors to subway stations across New York City.
The ambassadors will be similar to station agents behind the window, but will instead roam stations from tracks to mezzanines to turnstiles.
They will walk around with mobile devices, providing riders with real-time information on disruptions and alternate routes.
The MTA hopes to send out the workers within the next couple of weeks.
Initially, the ambassadors will begin at high-traffic stations such as Atlantic-Barclay, Grand Central, Times Square, Union Square, Penn Station, Main Street Flushing and 149th Street-Grand Concourse.
