A non-profit organization has created an initiative to keep U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents out of some New York City neighborhoods.

The Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development and Make the Road NY have launched 'ICE OUT.'

They say the initiative conveys the message that ICE officers are not allowed to enter apartment buildings and community spaces without a judicial warrant.

Organizers say many immigrants who are subjected to searches are unaware of the law resulting in detention and deportation.

They say a judicial warrant is crucial yet often overlooked as a right to protect undocumented tenants in apartment dense-areas like New York City.

The organization says it has placed posters in the entrances of buildings across the five boroughs.
