#N12BX: Yanny or Laurel?
The internet is abuzz with the latest viral debate over an audio clip.
Twitter user CloeCouture posted the now viral debate with an audio file asking listeners if what they heard sounded like the word "Yanny" or "Laurel."
Of course, people heard two different sounds.
Some say they heard the word "Yanny" while others argued they could only hear "Laurel."
Participants even reported hearing "Yanny" on one device and then "Laurel" on another.
Scientists say they may have an explanation as to why and how people are hearing two different sounds.
They say it has to do with the lower quality of the audio recording and how you listen to it.
Some have suggested hearing "Yanny" is a result of a device's speakers which produces less bass and those who hear Laurel may be listening on devices with higher treble.
The debate has also resurrected the "which color is the dress?" debate from 2015.
