Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson hosted a Three Kings Day celebration Wednesday along with community members.
The festivity happened at the Latino Pastoral Action Center. Three Kings Day celebrates the story of the three wise men presenting gifts to baby Jesus on Jan. 6.
"I remember growing up as an immigrant child back in the Dominican Republic, we celebrate Three Kings Day. So, when I came here, it's almost a culture shock for me not being able to continue the celebration," said Deputy Borough President Janet Peguero. "In the spirit of continuing that celebration and continuing the culture, it's an exciting time to be here celebrating with our partners and our community partners and giving back to our community."
Roughly 1,000 gifts were handed out to children.
