The Transportation Security Administration is now hiring both part-time and full-time TSA officers. The federal agency is hosting an on-the-site job recruiting event for eager job seekers in Queens.

With the holiday season fast approaching, the TSA is getting ahead of the curve. It is hiring as many agents as possible for both LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy International airports at a massive recruiting event at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel.

With resumes in hands, hundreds of eager jobseekers came out in hopes of securing a job with the TSA.

Recruiters say the hiring process is on the fast track. Candidates come in, apply and are required to take a computer assessment test. Interviews are also being conducted on site for candidates who pass the exam.

The TSA is hiring both part-time and full-time workers. The salary starts at just over $19 an hour including benefits for both part-time and full-time positions.

As an added incentive, the TSA is also offering a $1,000 signing-on bonus for candidates who are hired before September 2022.

The hiring event is taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Candidates are urged to arrive early to avoid a long wait.
