The New York Episcopal Federal Credit Union will be opening on the St. James Church campus in Fordham.
It will be joined by over 100 affordable housing apartments, some of which are set aside for the formerly homeless. This comes through a partnership with Concerned Housing for Independent Living.
Church leaders were on hand Thursday to announce the launch of the credit union and open accounts at the credit union's first branch and headquarters. They say that this is about economic inclusivity and helping with everything from businesses getting loans to training in financial literacy.
It is set to open its doors later this year.
