For the second year in a row, the Bronx has beaten out the four other boroughs in the annual "State of the Chains" report.
The study conducted by the Center for an Urban Future reports that while the Bronx doesn't have the most retail stores, it did have the highest growth this past year at just over 4 percent.
Baychester and Co-op City have more chain stores than any other neighborhood in the city.
Marlene Cintron, president of the Bronx Economic Development Corporation, says developers plan on breaking ground next year in Co-op City for a new affordable housing development, as well as new stores.
