With a new year comes new toll rates for Port Authority bridges and tunnels.
Eastbound traffic is now faced with a 3% toll hike, and that’s regardless of E-ZPass or not. Driver Maciej Lusczkiewicz isn’t thrilled with the move.
“They’re getting into our wallets, and there’s not really much you can do about it," he said.

Lusczkiewicz works in New York but tries to get out of driving a car as much as he can.
“Taking a bus, putting the bike in the bus and driving in Manhattan on a bicycle from bus stop to my workplace," he said. "But I cannot always do it, especially not in the winter when it’s getting a little colder.”
In addition to the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the George Washington, Bayonne and Goethals bridges, and the Outerbridge Crossing are now seeing the same increase. Drivers will pay $16.79 with an E-ZPass during those peak hours, and then pay $14.79 with an E-ZPass during off-peak hours.
The Port Authority lists peak hours as weekdays 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Any drivers still using pay by plate will spend over $23 at any crossing.
The fee comes at a time when just last month the Port Authority Board of Commissioners approved a capital plan for 2026-2035. The agency receives no taxpayer funding from the states it serves.
More information about the toll increases can be found on the Port Authority website.
