The New York Botanical Garden has been in the neighborhood for nearly 130 years, but now it's getting into the real estate world.
It is constructing two new affordable housing projects at the southwest corner of Bedford Park Boulevard and Webster Avenue. In the meantime, the first new building will be at 2856 Webster Ave. and will be designated specifically for seniors.
The 12-story building will have one-bedroom and studio apartments available with units reserved for those making around $37,000 a year.
The other mixed-use affordable housing building will be at 410 Bedford Park Blvd. The Norwood News reports that it'll have 250 units and that they will offer studios, two and three-bedroom apartments, and will be available for those with a yearly income of about $84,000.
Developers tell News 12 each building will have residential and commercial parking.
Construction on both of these projects are expected to start sometime this year.
