New York City is preparing for a potential hit from Isaias as the storm is on track to move up the East Coast.
The Department of Emergency Management has been deploying flood protection equipment all over the five boroughs, especially in hurricane evacuation zones.
There are six hurricane evacuation zones in the city, numbered in order for the areas most likely to flood. The Bronx is located in Zone 4 and Brooklyn is in Zone 3.
The city will have multiple evacuation centers in each borough in case people have to leave their homes.
Residents can find their zone on the DOEM website.
The DOEM is making sure to add barriers and tiger dams to those areas. They are advising people to prepare for flooding.
Officials say residents should tie down anything loose outside or bring it inside. They also say valuable items should be moved from the basement.
Those who live in evacuation zones are being urged to move their cars to higher ground and those living in a high-rise apartment to make sure their windows are closed.
Everyone is also being reminded to have supplies ready in case electricity goes out.
