While many are glad to see a change, other riders are still frustrated with overcrowding.
Each night, hundreds of MTA workers disinfect the trains. It’s part of an initiative that the city says has no end date in sight.
A spokesperson for the MTA tells News 12 it has been getting compliments from riders about the cleanliness of the stations since they started the subway overnight cleanup. However, others are still frustrated with overcrowding when the trains start back up at 5 a.m.

The city has put in place a subway overnight outreach program. The mayor stating in recent news conferences that a team of nurses and social workers have been helping homeless people find shelter and resources they need.
