Newark Mayor Ras Baraka says that he is going to run for governor of New Jersey.
Baraka made the announcement Monday at a Black History Month event in Trenton.
He joins former state Senate President Steve Sweeney and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop as Democratic candidates for governor.
Current Gov. Phil Murphy’s term ends next year.
