A newborn boy was found wrapped in a blanket inside a bag Wednesday in The Bronx, according to police.

Authorities say they received a call reporting the discovery at 689 E 223rd St.

The baby was conscious and alert. He was transferred to Montefiore Hospital in stable condition.

Police say they have arrested a 28-year-old woman. She is charged with abandoning a child and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
